Well time has absolutely flown this year and now it is time for the last “Sevens” post of 2017!!
We managed to be quite good with posting our sevens posts this year, 39 posts throughout the year which definitely isn’t bad for us considering how variable our schedules are.
Here are some posts from the last two weeks of festivities, most of which is has been quite busy and mostly not involving technology which is quite refreshing.
In the run up to Christmas there was some last minute crafting (naturally…) with Nikki making a number of bags of different types, including a few Christmas sacks as we were trying to reduce the amount of wrapping paper we used this year as it just gets thrown away straight away. 🙁
Nikki also bought a couple of early Christmas presents for the flat in Norwich to make it more homely with two pictures to hang in the lounge and bedroom, these along with a bed frame and sofa-bed mean it’s starting to get all cosy.
This year Christmas was spent in different places as Nikki spent Christmas with Philip before joining the family for the new year period. But we all had lovely Christmas trees and decorations.
and naturally the festive period was filled with lots of food and gatherings, Nikki made some penguin appetisers on two occasions which went down a storm.
2 Jigsaw puzzles have been completed so far, this one was a bit of a challenge as the pieces didn’t all have connectors on them, some of them just laid next to each other…
There’s been a number of sourdough loaves baked recently as well as our parents went on a baking course and now we have sourdough starters. These are going down well with the selection of cheese and chutneys around at Christmas.
We also both had stitching santas to unwrap (which we will blog about separately) which was a nice crafty thing for Christmas day 🙂
There was also a whole range of christmas presents, Pippa made me a pyrographed cheese board, we also had a small zoo of felted egg cosies, which are rather ecletic, and I managed to get the wrapping perfect for part of her stitching christmas present. 🙂
Pippa has started her blanket as a Christmas Eve cast on, and already she’s almost knitted as much as I’ve done on my blanket!!
We hope you all have had a lovely Christmas time whatever you have been up to and took the time to relax and treat yourself to some you time. Best wishes for the New year and 2018!
