Fabrics for Clothing

This page is mostly a reminder to myself about the fabrics I have bought in the past, and which ones I would be likely to buy again.

100% Cotton 2×2 rib Q1007 I have two tops out of this fabric in Petrol and French Blue, they seem to be holding up well in the wash I just need a few more versions now.

Viscose Cotton Stretch Lycra Q300 I am a massive fan of anything viscose and this fabric is no exception. This one I cut into a Laundry day Tee which is a prefect match for the fabric as it has a nice drape. I also use this for normal T-shirts especially the Neenah Roll neck. This is super soft fabric that comes in a lovely variety of colours.

Cotton Lycra Jersey 4 way stretch Q35

I am still waiting on this one but I have high hopes for it and it comes in a fantastic range of colours so could be really useful for wardrobe staples.

Fleece Backed Sweatshirt Ribbing Cuff

These two fabrics match perfectly, also comes in other colours. Ribbing is great for cuffs on all garments.
The sweatshirting doesn’t have much stretch at all.

Thin Sweater Knit

This fabric is a very thin sweater knit and has a good drape but does pill slightly. I have my myself and my mother this waterfall cardigan out of it and myself an Oslo Drift cardigan from the left overs in grey.

Striped Viscose Cotton

Nice feeling fabric, I had to buy Nikki some as she keeps stealing my LDT. But the stripes are printed onthe fabric and shows slightly when the fabric stretches.

Thick Sweater Knit Q971 Be careful with how you wash this one! Large scale openish knit fabric used to make 3 oslo cardigans so far.

Ponte Q37, so far I have this fabric in Grey, Plum, Mustard, and blue. It is great for dresses, cardigans and jumpers

Deer and doe zephyr dress

Marble Texture Velvet. So I bought 4m of this to make myself a ball gown and it was a massive hit.

Cotton Interlock Jersey This is a very stable knit, Probably too thick for what I used it for with less recover than fabrics with Lycra in them. I probably wont use this one again unless I specifically need these characteristics

Cotton Poplin Q448, I used this to make a Rachel Shirt. It is a lovely crisp fabric which presses nicely and has a bit of stretch too. It’s just a shame that they don’t have this fabric in white.
