Here is this weeks “Sunday” Sevens post, linking up to Natalie to give a snap shot view of how the last week has gone.
This week has been another busy one with lots of travelling for both of us!
Finally after having the magazine for a year and a half I finally got round to making that Burda Style dress that I have been planning for ages. Initially it didn’t fit very all at all! but after cutting it apart and putting it back together it fits better. It still needs some modification though, but it was good enough for to wear out to works Christmas dinner. 🙂
One awesome thing about this dress is that it has pockets.and I had great fun trying to get them out of the smallest scraps that I could find. I think I might have nailed it! Also it has a strappy top to wear underneath it (it needs it!) and I finally used my loop turner from last years stitching Santa 🙂
Unfortunately not all of the last minute making went quite as well! The perils of tracing two patterns onto the same fabric! (I did the second one after realising that I was missing a sleeve from the first one so needed a less fabric hungry pattern)
Nikki also got in on the last minute making band wagon and made herself a skirt to wear to the party, along side that she also made a clutch bag out of the same sequinned fabric and Hedgehog bag from some cute quilting cotton that she had bought.
Stitching Santas have been going full tilt this week and they are almost finished and shipped:
Lots of travelling has occurred this week, Pippa has done more from Thursday through to Monday it looked like this: Poole – Southampton – Epping – Hertford – Epping – Cambridge – Norwich – Southampton – Poole. Two Christmas Parties and one sofa transported to Norwich… It was very nice to see our cousins in Cambridge and check out their lovely display of mechanical Christmas displays, whilst sipping champagne of course!
I hope your Christmas planning is going well and you have had time to stop and sip the Champagne too.

Your face says it all in that first photo! A good save though.
Lol yes. It ws such a dissapointment as I had been wanting to make that dress for about a year and a half. Thankfully I managed to sort it out, but really it needs some more modification to make it really work.
What a difference in the dress – from ‘sack’ to ‘stunning’! Pippa deserves a rest after all that travelling over a long weekend so good job Christmas is almost here. I’m a sucker for mechanical Christmas decorations and LOVE the tall one at the back.
Such a difference. I should have known that I would have to make that modification but when I held the pieces up against me before I cut it out they didn’t seem too long. Oh well Live and learn.
Oh yes, definite improvement on the dress. Love the mechanical Christmas decs.
Oh yes I am happy to wear it in public now :p
