Monday Sevens #88

Here is this weeks “Sunday” Sevens post, linking up to Natalie to give a snap shot view of how the last week has gone.

With Nikki’s thesis deadline creeping up on us she is nose to the grindstone trying to get all the editing finished, requiring long days sat in front of the computer with various bits of notes spread over the bed!

But she is still managing to keep up her lettering practice and has made a lovely new spread for February in her bullet journal.

Meanwhile, Pippa has been doing some experimentation for the Latin outfit and wins the prize for the oddest shaped pattern piece!

The shape for the back of the dress has been improved upon and a new top is in progress to check just how it falls…

Sourdough baking continues apace with more sourdough and some fruit loaf (which needs a bit of modification but is a good first try)

Pippa caught up with some jet-setting friends that she hasn’t seen in ages (one not since the Carribean 5 years ago, who had just flown in from Honolulu two days before!), arriving early she got on with casting on the last panel of her blanket. Apparently, she likes this colour, as it almost perfectly matches her 1989 headband.

And oh look there is a familiar colour here in the most recent cast on. Currently being filed under ‘really didn’t need to start this’ but never the less here we have a crochet gradient shawl cast on, at least this one is more portable than my other projects. 3 full bags of different wool balls doesn’t make for a very portable project.

And Finally this arrived after a week of waiting for Amazon to decide that they actually had copies of it I finally received my copy of Melissa’s activewear book. Hopefully, this will kickstart my sew-jo for the new year as I have hardly wanted to touch a sewing machine all year…

It has been a bit of an odd week with Pippa recovering from a cold that started on Monday morning, so it hasn’t been the most productive of weeks when at the beginning of the week she didn’t even feel like picking up her knitting!

I hope everyone else has had a more productive week and haven’t succumbed to the dreaded lurgy…

Ooh! The Activewear book looks interesting – I look forward to hearing how you get on with it. I hope Pippa is over the worst of the lurgy by now 🙁

Thankfully just the residual cough now, and only at times 🙂
I might delve into it tomorrow and try out one of the top blocks…

The dress back is very eye-catching – how on earth do you go about designing new things all the time? Nikki’s lettering is beautiful, her hard work is obviously paying off. I really miss bread like this. Gluten free stuff just isn’t the same and we rarely eat it any more, so I’m well jealous looking at this!

Thanks, its even more eye catching in bright orange!
Erm lots of stalking of other dresses on pinterest and facebook. And no fear of tryig out something a bit crazy.

I would struggle so hard if I was gluten free as I love decent bread. But am not a fan of basic shop bought stuff. Are you def gluten intollerent and there is some research that sourdough is digestible to some people who struggle with normal comerically produced bread. https://www.sourdough.co.uk/new-evidence-gluten-might-not-problem/

The back of the dress looks as if it’s going to be gorgeous. As for active wear! Wow! You guys skills are amazing. Sorry to hear about Pippa’s cold – hope she hasn’t got what we’ve got. I started with it Christmas even and still have it – just as you think it’s gone away, it starts again 🙁

Yes the back of the dress looks great – but the trouble is trying to keep it in place, or at least make it feel like it will stay in place!
I think I’m 99% better now, but being back at work on tues wil test that theory.
