March Round up

Its almost the end of April but I have only just got the motivation to do my March Round up this month was quite productive but probably not as productive as February was.

Probably my biggest sewing achievement to date has been completed this month:

I MADE JEANS!!

Monday sevens

I added to my Tshirt Collection:

My first version of the Jane Tshirt from Seamwork, personally I think this looks a bit frumpy but it is sooo comfortable. As I’m getting more used to it I am liking it more, but this one has been relegated so super comfy PJs. Thick Viscose from Tia Knight.

This is a technical T-shirt made from two left over shirts from an event I did last year. It is a bit short as I had to avoid the company logo which was branded on them. This is made with my modified Renfrew pattern, hacked to have raglan sleeves.

More pattern hacking of the Renfrew Tshirt going on this month. Here I have modified it to have a boat neck and 3/4 sleeves to try out some new to me fabric from Tia Knight, a nice thick cotton interlock. I need to remove some width from the neckline in future.

I completed a black leotard to go with my Ballroom skirt in time for the last competition of the season

I finally got round to a few unusual things this month:

Monday sevens

Seeing someone on Instagram making the Cowl neck version of the Renfrew pattern for the first time I decided it was high time I got round to sewing it up myself but modified it to a long sleeved dress instead.

Robs jumper

I finally finished Robs jumper and got a very reluctant Ed to model it. It does need a bit more blocking to try and get the sleeves a bit longer and a bit more even in length.

This year I decided to make something for my mother for mothers day rather than buying anything. I made up the Burda Style Plus size waterfall cardigan in a grey knit. I also made Jeggings for myself – the material turned out very thin so these need to be worn with long tshirts!

Knitting wise I finished sleeve 2 of my Riddari Jumper and cast on the body; I finally finished Robs jumper, it just needed seaming up and blocking but it took me ages, I probably need to try and block the sleeves a bit longer after Ed tried it on; I finished a swatch of the beading patterns for the Wedding Peacock shawl – I just need to order the bulk of the beads to make any more progress on this one; I also cast on a cropped raglan sleeved pullover with the bulky yarn that my nan recovered from an old jumper attempt of mine. I also sewed a “Stowe” bag in a silky fabric to keep the wedding peacock shawl in.

Progress on March Aims:

Do more Yoga – I did well for most of the month but only managed about 3 days a week on average
Eat more fruit and Veg – I did ok on this but still need to continue.
Make Jeans – Win!
Plan Garden – ish…
Organise the House – This is starting to take shape – but more tasks keep cropping up!!Q
Drink Less Coffee – 1/2 and 1/2 some days are better than others.

April Aims:

Do more Yoga I am aiming for 5 days in 7
Clean the Greenhouse – I have access to my nans greenhouse so I need to give it a spring clean
Plant seeds etc – Since I am focussing on the Garden more I need to plant some seeds and take cuttings of the existing plants I want to propagate
#100day project – I have decided to take on a 100 day project and am aiming to do a watercolour painting every day, even if it is just something tiny.
