So this year and last I have been dancing latin in a girl-girl partnership, and because of this it looks much better to wear matching dresses.
Last year Pippa and I whipped together this two-piece in a week for the first competition to match my partner’s existing dress and it has worked quite well so far.
However I decided I quite wanted to make a new latin dress and if I actually wanted to wear it, then my partner would also need a new dress… However she was quite keen to get new dresses which paved the way for my most recent project: Matching Latin Dresses!
Unfortunately in the usual style there was quite a short turn around to get the dresses completed, as we really would like them ready to compete at the Southern Universities Competition on the 13th February… So there’s probably not going to be a lot posted about them before they have been completed as we will be busy actually making them. But in line with my previous series: Fringe Latin Dress I plan to blog the creation of these dresses with tutorials to help out anyone else who is attempting to make their own dresses.
But I thought I’d post a little bit of a preview with some photos that I have taken so far.
Well we have mocked up a few designs but this one is fairly close to what we will actually be working from.
A sneak preview of some of the fabric…
and the most important thing…
