Welcome to this weeks instalment of Sunday Sevens from Natalie at Thread and Bobbins, posting 7 photos of your week that wouldn’t warrant blog posts of their own. This week I am also going to post my goals for the coming week to see if that helps me get them achieved.
-
The week started off well with a delivery of fabric from Tia Knight. The three on the left were for the Latin dresses and the ones on the right are for me 🙂
-
It suddenly struck me on Thursday that I didn’t have a swimsuit. So I made one. I’m so proud it only took me 0.4m to make this…
-
Ok so I never use pins, well almost never. But underlining this swimsuit took All of the Pins!!
-
Nikki came over on Friday and as usual brought me lots of goodies. One of which was this bed base, it is amazing how much difference having a bed base can make compared to what I have had for the last 4 moths of a mattress straight on the floor
-
The last minute swimsuit making was in aid of this. A spa day at the Marriot in Bournemouth. Which was wonderful, but unfortunately I had a number of knots in my shoulders and seem to have picked up some bruising from the massage
-
We had afternoon tea, which had too much cake to sandwich ratio for our liking but was very nice.
-
So our friend Aneesa decided that she had never had a chance to wear a proper ballroom dress so tried on ‘Belle’. Much twirling ensued.
-
One of the main reasons Aneesa came over this weekend was for a fitting for the Green Dress, this meant lots of hand sewing of ruching that I had draped on the body form…
-
After all the pattern cutting and manipulating that happened this weekend I wanted a quick pattern so I made up this lengthened Seamwork Oslo in a lovely sweater knit. (You can also see the other gift Nikki gave me of a full length mirror 🙂 )
Goals: This week I plan to:
- Finish as much as possible on the Green Dress and create some more rhinestone embellishments
- Finish cutting (making) the pattern pieces for the Purple Dresses. (at least in one size!)
- Eat all the fruit and veg I have. To eat healthily and not let food go to waste.
- Make a few basic white Renfrew T-shirts.
- Post at least two blog posts.
Lets see how this setting goals thing goes. Hopefully it gives me a bit of a kick to get things done and focus my time management better. Is any one else struggling with this at the moment?

It looks like you’ve had a very fun week this week! I love the fabrics you’ve purchased – can’t wait to see your makes! And, that cake looks gorgeous 😀
Thanks, the purple and the grey are for Latin dresses so will take a little longer to come together, but hopefully I’ll get something made with the others this week..
I love the dresses you make – and a swimsuit, too? I’ve never tried making any kind of sportswear. Probably because I don’t do any kind of sport….
Thanks, I’m not sure if I would have considered the swim suit if I hadn’t made 4 leotards in the last week/10days… It is basically the same pattern but with underlining as well.
I can’t imagine making a swimsuit! Love your Oslo sweater (it looks like my kind of comfy), and the spa day sounds so delightful. Very pretty quilt, too! Hope you achieve your week’s goals, and yes, I have also have issues with time management. Sigh.
Lol yeah I think I only considered it because of the large amounts of leotards I have been making lately, its just the same pattern with underlining to make sure it wasn’t see-through.
I do have to admit to not making that quilt, it is one from Ikea that Nikki bought me for a present a couple of years ago. One day I will make one that big… Maybe…
Wow! You made your own swimsuit!! Fantastic – you are so talented. If last week’s achievements re anything to go by, I’m sure you’ll achieve your goals this week 🙂
Thanks for believing in me. But this weeks progress is much slower than last week’s…
