This weeks late night Sunday Sevens is being written up on my phone as I am chilling out in the back garden under a blanket enjoying the fact that I’m not frozen solid at 11 at night.

When I came back from sailing last weekend my parent’s were round and helping Nikki to put the fence back up.
We caught up with some friends of ours who took us to Costco and then we went back to theirs for dinner. This was the lovely spread that they had prepared for us…
More food: during the week we have done quite a lot in the garden which always makes us want a BBQ. I decided to experiment with making flat bread this time…
Doing lots of work in the garden had prompted us to try and clean up the “patio” and buy some patio furniture. Here is it half way through the tidy and how it looks now.
We have a number of fruit and veg plants on the go this year. A number of them are in pots on the patio. Hopefully they will give us lots of produce this year.
Even more food: nikki and I decided to try out some new pizza toppings. I made up a batch of pizza base which produced way more pizza than I thought it was going to. And then set about creating a lovely pizza with smoked mackerel and salmon, among other things
Making a top to wear at the weekend I decided to be good and press the seams! I won’t be making that mistake again…
A judicious rummage through the button box managed to produce 6 buttons of a suitable colour for my cardigan.
Which I have finally finished. This is literally the best photo I have of it at the moment.
Nikki has been doing lots of driving this weekend. Over to Dorset to see one set of grandparents then down to Devon for a birthday celebration for the other set (grandad) then back to soton for the end of year BBQ for the dance society, all in 3 days!
We went out for a meal at the seven stars hotel in Totnes which is a very eclectic place but served lovely food.
I’ve finally mastered the art of car knitting I think finishing the button band of my cardigan on the way to Devon and casting on my first ever sock on the way back. Looks like this might be my new descriptor for the length of journeys…
That BBQ looks wonderful, did you cook the flatbreads on it as well? I usually do mine in the oven. Wow, your cardigan is brilliant, I love it! Is it the same yarn for the socks, or is it just the photo that makes it look the same?
Thank you. Yeah I did cook the flat breads on the BBQ, it was too hot to turn the oven on. They were tasty but a bit overcooked… Oh well, Live and learn.
Its so nice to be able to wear the cardigan now it has been well over a year in the making, well more than that as my nan originally started it!
No the socks are a varigated grey thin sock yarn, its not the best photo to show the colour I’ll admit.
