#StitchingSanta Sewing Version

On Christmas day we always have stockings hung up over the fireplace which we get small Santa gifts in. We open them when we have put the turkey in the oven and settled down before anything else happens. This year I got to add two #StitchingSanta presents to the mix, I gave one to Nikki to open as she had arranged most of the stocking presents herself.

I gave her the lovely packaged box which turned out to contain the sewing gift from Trisha at The Small Sewing Room:

Stitching Santa Sewing

There was a lovely stocking:

Stocking

This stocking will have to become part of next year decorations.

The whole of the package opened up

This was the whole of the package I received. I am so glad that I got the pin cushion for a few weeks before this parcel arrived I kept wishing I actually made myself one but never got round to it. Too much other stuff to do… In matching fabric I also received a set of sewing  scissors in a little case, these look so good and much to my mothers appreciation they seem to work better than the pair that she owns that are a similar design.

The other things included some different ribbons and fabrics, one of which is thicker weight so might have to become some kind of pouch. I am looking to make myself another Ikea bag and I might see if these solid handles would work on it.

I love the buttons that I received (which are not well photographed here, and I have put them away for safekeeping so I don’t loose them) but they are black with Anchors on them. The binder clips will be very useful when I make Nikki’s cape as I am going to put pleather binding on it.

Thank you soo much Trisha, there are so many things in this which will see regular use and some small things for me to treat myself by using. All in all opening it made mine and Nikki’s Christmas 🙂

What a lovely parcel of goodies and very generous of you to share it with Nikki! You’ll both have to sign up next year:) I’m so pleased you enjoyed the swap. Happy New Year!

The chance is she will end up using or benefiting from the contents of it. Next year sounds good, and I’m sure she will consider it.

So lovely! That little pincushion is adorable, and the matching scissors cover is such a nice touch. Can’t wait to see how the bag turns out….what will you find to complement those handles? Fun, fun, fun!

I’m not sure but I imagine I have something in my stash that will work.
The pin cushion and scissors have been put to good use already.
